About the Activity

Quinta de la Rosa, located in the heart of the Alto Douro along the banks of the river, near Pinhão, invites you to enjoy a wine and food break in one of the most emblematic winery in Douro Valley.

In this experience, you will have 1 night of accommodation for 2 people, in a double superior room with river view and breakfast included, one dinner with wine pairing, a guided visit to our winery and aging cellar and a wine tasting (2 DOC Douro wines and 2 Port Wines).

Quinta de la Rosa is unusual as we are able to show the whole port and wine making process from the vineyard to the final bottle. Most port houses make their port in the Douro but store and bottle it in Vila Nova da Gaia, in Porto. We do everything in the Douro. Not only that, but we are able to show both wine and port making processes side by side.

Quinta de la Rosa gives you the unique opportunity to stay amongst a working vineyard and winery on the banks of the river Douro.

The dinner’s menu will be composed by appetizers, main course and dessert. If you have any food intolerance, please mention at the checkout.

The rooms overlook the Douro and guests can use the swimming pool. Some of the rooms were named after members of the Bergqvist family.

Quinta de la Rosa is built on the side of a hill with steep steps connecting the different levels so is unsuitable for people with mobility problems. However, we do have a room which can be accessed directly from a car.

Cancellation policy

Free cancellation up to 10 days before the booked date. After this period the entire reservation will be charged.

Notes

Visits and Wine Tastings schedule: 11:30 a.m., 02:30 p.m. or 05:00 p.m.

Quinta de la Rosa is not a hotel, we are a rural tourism, which architecturally accompanies the terraces of the Douro, with a concept a little more informal, personal and familiar. We don't have a 24h luggage service or reception. Almost all of our rooms have access stairs.

All our rooms are properly equipped with air conditioning, minibar, free internet network, kettle and private bathroom. We do not have TV or telephone in any of our rooms.

We do not have SPA service, however there are guided tours, walks through our vineyards and wine tasting.

Lunches/dinners at our restaurant Cozinha da Clara. All appointments should be made in advance.

The check-in should take place between 15:00 and 18:00.

Check-out should be done until 11:00. There is no possibility of late check-out.

“Winery, hotel and restaurant are all good.” We were fortunate to get one of the newer rooms with an amazing view of the Duoro River. The room was well appointed and quite comfortable. The restaurant is first class with interesting entrees and an outstanding staff. The winery tour was very informative and the tasting was a delightful experience. Unfortunately we did not get to participate in the grape stomping event. It looked like great fun. Truly one of the highlights of our trip through Portugal. Paul, 25 jan 2020
